In the region, cycling fans are spoilt for choice when it comes to their adventurous get-aways, with over 500 kilometres of bike routes for racing bikes, e-bikes, mountain bikes and gravel bikes. Gstaad is primarily for bike sport guests who prefer technically moderate routes and want to combine a high-quality experience with physical activity.

Those longing for a challenging mountain bike adventure should take the tour heading to the Vallée du Gros Mont. After a strenuous climb, you are rewarded with unspoiled nature and tranquillity. The destination also offers laid-back trails. One example is the idyllic route to the famous Lake Lauenen. But all trails have one thing in common: They pass through beautiful and varied landscapes.

The state-of-the-art hostel with mountain views is a ski, family and bike hotel all at once. Here, you have everything you need for an eventful time in Gstaad, in the middle of the Bernese Oberland and in the glacier region.

  • Val d’Anniviers in the canton of Valais is considered to be the perfect biking paradise. The bike-certified «Bella Lui» Youth Hostel offers cycling fans everything they need for an adventurous trip: a bike room, tools and e-bike charging stations. A spacious sun terrace or the private south-facing balconies of the double rooms of the former sanatorium are great for relaxing after an exciting day. Always in view: the mighty four-thousand-metre peaks.

An extensive breakfast buffet is included every morning of your overnight stay. The region around Crans-Montana has everything a biker’s heart desires. Insider tips include the mountain bike trails 1988 Bike, Bike Marathon, Valais Panorama Bike and Valais Alpine Bike through Tièche Valley. Leading through unspoiled nature past waterfalls and a wild brook, these routes offer fantastic views. If the tour is a bit too challenging, you can return at any time using free public transport. There are numerous charging stations on the mountain, such as in Colombire, to make sure the battery in your e-bike doesn’t run out.

If you’re looking for an adrenaline rush, the bike park’s red track is just the right choice for you. Look forward to 530 metres in altitude with open flow sections to technical parts in the forest and, of course, a breathtaking view. For young guests and people without experience, there is a «Family Forest Loop» at Moubra Lake in the village.

Crans-Montana is the venue for numerous bike events. This year, Nino Schurter, Jolanda Nef and more will compete at the Swiss Mountain Bike Championship. A leg of the World Cup will follow in 2024 and Crans-Montana will host the World Cross-Country Championship in 2025. Here, you have the opportunity to let off steam on the same trails as the crème de la crème of the cycling world!

One of the most beautiful sides of the Valais can be found in Crans-Montana. Converted into a bike youth hostel, the Bella Lui lives up to its name!
