Food and drink

Good food make life sweeter!

They say that food helps keeps the body and soul together. And food makes you happy. We totally agree! That’s why we are delighted to be able to serve you balanced and varied dishes in our youth hostels. This helps to both protect the environment and your budget. And because food brings people together, dining with us also enables you to meet other travellers. After all, delicious food is a universal joy.

À la carte

Our à la carte restaurants

Prepare to venture beyond the ordinary when you explore our menus. We continually re-imagine both classic or nouveau classic dishes, with a focus on regional and well-balanced cuisine to delight guests staying overnight at our hostels as well as those visiting to dine only. The concept is called “yoummi” – for a happy tummy!

Seasonal and sustainable

We use regional and Swiss Fair Trade products and always look for seasonal availability when it comes to fruit and vegetables – we, therefore, rarely use exotic fruits. By increasing the proportion of vegetables in our dishes, we also reduce our carbon footprint.

Vegetarian, vegan or meat?

Our menus are predominantly vegetarian based; vegetarian dishes can also be served as vegan options and are available in gluten-free or lactose-free versions. There is also often a menu with Swiss-produced meat. On average, our menus generate 40% less CO2 than a standard menu.

Spice up your meal

At our topping stations, you can jazz up your dishes with nuts, raisins, chillies, tortilla chips, sauces, lime slices, herbs and more.

Inexpensive and high-quality

Our three-course menus cost CHF 19.50 for adults and prices for children are CHF 8.50 (2–5 years) and CHF 14.50 (6–12 years). Each menu includes a salad or soup, a freshly prepared main course and a dessert. Free extra vegetables and side dishes are included.

Water station

You can drink local drinking water free of charge at our popular water stations. This makes it easy to get the recommended daily amount of water.

Self-kiosk

Thirsty or in the mood for something sweet? The self-kiosk offers everything you need for urgent daily or night-time needs around the clock. The individual hostel pages show the youth hostels where a self-kiosk is available. The offer is constantly being expanded.
