    La Sutga Rumantscha says «Allegra»: An armchair characterised by the Romansh language and culture

    Today, the Swiss Youth Hostels are presenting the Sutga Rumantscha – the Romanesque armchair – at wellnessHostel3000 in Laax. Featuring a built-in loudspeaker and tablet, the chair is an interactive station for learning Switzerland’s fourth national language. With it, the Swiss Youth Hostels live up to their credo of «education through travel» and introduce their guests to the Romansh language and culture in an entertaining way.

    Burgdorf Castle Youth Hostel wins ICOMOS Special Award

    As part of the «Historic Restaurant/Hotel of the Year» award, the youth hostel at Burgdorf Castle was today honoured with the special prize by ICOMOS Suisse, the Swiss national group of the International Council on Monuments and Sites. This award is presented to accommodation providers that meet the high standards of the Council in an outstanding manner with regard to monument preservation and restoration.

    In recent years, there has been a significant increase in the number of registrations of hybrid and electric vehicles in Switzerland. The Swiss Youth Hostels want to adapt to this mobility requirement. In concrete terms, this means that we will be upgrading to support the infrastructure needed to charge these vehicles.

    Fresh, modern and right on the lake: Rapperswil-Jona Youth Hostel re-opens to guests after renovation

    Those who value ultra-modern, yet attractively priced accommodation now have cause for celebration in Rapperswil-Jona. A modern hostel right on Lake Zurich awaits guests with the re-opening of the newly renovated youth hostel. The city of Rapperswil-Jona focused the redesign on renovating the rooms and refurbishing the common areas. For years, families, sports groups and clubs in particular have appreciated the youth hostel’s proximity to the lake and the numerous sports facilities.

    Schaan and Vaduz open their new youth hostel

    After almost one and a half years of construction, the new Schaan-Vaduz Youth Hostel welcomes its first guests. The new hostel was built according to the highest sustainability standards and is expected to bring more than 10,000 overnight stays to the Principality each year. This is expected to open up new guest segments and boost tourism in Liechtenstein.

    The world’s second wellness hostel celebrates successful opening in Laax

    Laax now features yet another attraction: the Aua Grava indoor pool, including its new wellness and fitness area, and the new wellnessHostel3000 opened their doors to overnight guests on 18 December 2020. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the indoor pool, including the wellness and fitness area, and the restaurant are expected to be open to external guests from March 2021.
