Fun for all ages

Besides skiing and snowboarding there are also other winter acivites, which therefore is sledging for instance. Discover in the swiss montains various numbers of sledging runs, who are based near by your favorite youth hostel.
For the adventures ones there are sledging runs with technical challenges, but there are also more simple ones, who are suited for families.

Davos Klosters

  • Schatzalp

    The Schatzalp is the starting point for the classic sledging run to Davos Platz, which already was occurring in the novel «The magic mountain» from Thomas Mann.

  • Rinerhorn

    The sledging run on the Rinerhorn has 33 bends and uniquely steep curves, ensuring plenty of adventure and fun for both children and adults.

  • Gotschnaboden-Klosters

    By the middle station Gotschnaboden starts the rapid toboggan descent, who continues on for over 3.5 km into Klosters and appeals to many adventurers.

  • Madrisa

    Madrisa is offering you a tobogganing fun for the hole family. The toboggan run stretches from the Saaseralp down to Saas.

  • Big Pintenfritz

    From the Faulhorn to Grindelwald with over 1,600 metres of altitude difference and a total length of 15 kilometres, it is the tobogganing experience for young and old. The ride down into the valley of the longest sledge run in Europe is breathtaking for everyone.

Saas-Fee

Saas-Grund

Sledging in the Free Republic of Holidays, Saas-Fee is so much fun that you’d happily do it both day and night. And now you can! Simply borrow a headlight along with your sledge and you’ll be gliding down the moonlit slopes with us. It's a truly unforgettable experience, especially for families.

Walk to the Saas-Fee bus terminal and then take the bus 511 to Saas-Grund Bergbahnen. Going on you take the cable car up to the Alp and start at the top.

Gstaad Saanenland

  • Hornberger Run

    This simpel sledging run is suited for the hole family. A leisurely descent with long bends is the ideal Track for children and sledging beginners.

  • Saanersloch Run

    The Saanersloch Run is a more challenging sledging run, whose first part includes steep sections. The second part is is instead easier to drive.

  • Horneggli Run

    It goes through pine forest and blowing snow. The sledging run crosses the Hornberger Run; therefore exists the possibility to change the route.

  • Eggli Run

    The one for family and adventure sledders suited sledging run navigates through secluded woods and the quiet mountain world of Gstaad. The sledging run ends as an enjoyable ride after about an hour.

Engadin

  • Muottas-Muragl

    This famous toboggan run is not like a normal descent, in fact it has a some thrilling moments in crazy hairpin bends, adrenaline-pumping straights with steep gradient and breathtaking views of the alpine world.

  • Prui-Ftan

    The first, southeast facing part from the toboggan run is quite straight just before the run navigates into the forest «God Schür», who many small bends challenge the technical abilitys.

  • Crasta Mora

    After a short 20-minute walk you toboggan towards Bever through a fairytale snow-covered larch forest, which between the trees the breathtaking Engadiner high valley flashes over and over again.

  • Lü-Tschierv

    The route starts directly at the postbus-station and nagivates on regular terrain through snow-covered woods to Tschierv. Where the piste leaves the forest, the panorama opens onto the opposite side of the valley and eastwards.

Trin

Foppa-Flims

The three kilometre long sledging run from Foppa to Flims can be easily reached by chair lift. The descent starts below the restaurant in the Berghaus Foppa, leads you through the forest and over a specially prepared slope for sledging back to the starting point at the valley station in Flims.

Walk to Trin Dorf station, where you take bus 81. Take the bus to Flims Dorf Bergbahnen and afterwards take the cable car to Foppa.

Zermatt

Rotenboden

The sledge run Rotenboden-Riffelberg on Gornergrat is not only the Alps’ highest of its kind but also one of the most beautiful having a mountain panorama on all sides; many four-thousanders including the Matterhorn preside over your runs.

From the Zermatt Youth Hostel to the sledging run:
First you walk to the bus station Zermatt, Kirchbrücke and then you take the bus 571 to Zermatt, train station. Afterwards you change to the Gornergrat Bahn and travel to Rotenboden..

  • Gerschni-Engelberg

    Who has the best technique and makes it the fastest to the valley? The 3.5 kilometer long sledging run navigates you back through the snow-covered Gerschniwald with his long bends to the starting point by Titlis.

Fiesch

Fiescheralp-Lax

A cool sledging adventure from Fiescheralp along a well-prepared 13 km run down to Lax. The run starts with views of the magnificent mountain panorama – including the Matterhorn. This fast but safe section is followed by a romantic run through snow-covered woods that ends just above Lax.

From the Fiesch Youth Hostel to the sledging run:
At the Fiesch valley station take the train up to the Fiescheralp. When you reach the Alp, you can already start on the sledging run. From Lax you can go back to Fiesch with de sports bus (included in sledging day ticket).
