Le Bémont

Jura

The landscape around Le Bémont is fascinating and varied. Even arriving on the red Chemins de Fer du Jura train is an experience: the railway travels straight through one of the folds of the Jura mountains and winds its way up through the narrow Tabeillon Gorge until it reaches a small farming village on the high plateau of the Franches-Montagnes. Here, you will find a typical former Jura farmhouse – whitewashed, with arched windows and a large playing field. Perfect for families and school classes, but also for solo travellers who want to explore the area on foot, by bike or on horseback. You can even visit horse studs in Doubs Nature Park and spot semi-wild herds.
