There is no ramp. The outdoor area on the ground floor can be reached through a threshold-free door.

The entire premises are wheelchair accessible and you can get to the rooms easily with the passenger lift.

• The width of the corridor in front of the elevator is 220 cm.
• The width of the elevator door is 90 cm.
• Elevator width: 110 cm
• Elevator depth: 200 cm

The room door width is 76 cm.

Barrier-free bathroom

There is a barrier-free shower/toilet on every floor. Two double rooms have their own fully disabled-friendly bathroom.

The bathroom dimensions are:

Barrier-free journey

By train / by foot

Interlaken Ost railway station is just 200 metres from the Youth Hostel. The paths inside the station grounds have an asphalt surface and the ramps are covered in concrete. The Youth Hostel is on the same side of the road as the station and the bus stops. It can be reached without crossing any thresholds or roads. Services of mobility helpers in public transport are provided. The pedestrian area is large (12 metres wide) and is clearly separated from the road.

By car

The youth hostel has a chargeable, wheelchair-accessible car parking space, for which advance reservation is essential. We will be pleased to make the disabled car parking space available free of charge for holders of an official blue disabled person’s parking permit.

The new V-Cableway in Grindelwald shortens the journey up to the Jungfraujoch by 45 minutes. The aerial cableway takes you from Grindelwald directly to the Eiger Glacier in 15 minutes, where you can continue up to the Jungfraujoch. The journey from Interlaken takes less than 100 minutes and is definitely worth a trip.
