Hiking Night in Zermatt

Experience the impressive mountain scenery of Zermatt on a night hike along the famous five-lake trail.

The Hiking Night is set to take place all over Switzerland for the 18th time. Experience the unique mountain scenery of Zermatt during this special event. The experience starts with a 4.5-minute trip on the funicular railway up to Sunnegga. Then it’s on to Blauherd by chairlift. This is where the hike starts at dusk. Alongside the distinctive views of the iconic Matterhorn, you’ll also get to take in many other stunning vistas. The route takes you along the most beautiful lakes in the Zermatt mountains. First, you’ll head to the famous Stellisee. Then, after a break with a well-deserved Valais platter, you’ll continue on to the Grindjisee and Moosjisee lakes. Later, in the dark and by the light of the full moon, you will continue along the Findelbach stream back to Zermatt. You can bring the evening to a close together in the youth hostel if you wish.
